This week, the article will begin with an apology to Hucklebucks and Sonshine Cafe whose names were accidentally left off the Kids Day Thank You! Please accept our apology and know your help was appreciated.
Glenda made funnel cakes again last Friday night at the last home football game of the year to benefit Project Gradation, completing our obligation to that group.
Attendance has been down at meetings the past couple of weeks, but we hope to pick back up this week when we will have two meetings on Thursday, Oct. 20.
Usually, the 3rd week of the month, we cancel our noon meeting and meet at 6 p.m. at night in order to accommodate members who cannot attend daytime meetings. This week our nighttime meeting will be our Kiwanis Officer Installation Dinner and Ceremony which will be held at 6 p.m. Our noon meeting will be held as usual on Oct. 20 in order to accommodate the “Citizens of the Month” who could not come on their regularly scheduled visit next week. We look forward to seeing Mr. Williams, the students and any members of their family who can come.
On Oct. 24 at 10 a.m., we will be at Skyline School to do a Terrific Kids Presentation. On Oct. 25 at 2 p.m., we will be awarding students at Plainview Schools with Terrific Kids prizes.
Don’t forget our Really Big Coloring Books are at Ozark Family Vision Center selling for just $4 each. They would make a great holiday gift!
Douglas County Health Department is sponsoring a month long baby shower to benefit Newborns in Need. Our club is donating on Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. I’m sure they would appreciate any and all donations from the general public as well.
If you have a program to present at one of our meetings, contact Donna Dixon at 683-1918 for scheduling. For all other questions about our club, please contact Glenda Little at 683-6167.
Please check out our Calendar of Events below and have a great week!
