Tecumseh

This dry earth could use a good soaking as it hasn’t rained for several weeks and some shrubs and trees are dying.  Leaves are covering the ground.

What a story was in Ava’s newspaper last week of a software developer and route 66 tour guide who rode through the area on his way to Florida with his two horses!  The article stated he would leave them there and ride on a motorcycle to San Diego, CA.  He had ridden across Australia, for charity.

I had a call Saturday from my great-nephew’s wife, Emily Aronis, in Springfield.

News of the passing of a dear friend, Velma (Harris) Hicks, formerly a Lilly Ridge resident and for the past years in S t. George, Utah, reached us Friday morning.  She died October 6th, in St. George Nursing facility there.  She leaves two children, Johna and Buddy, and two nieces Janice Blesard and Lou Arta Corbin of this area.  Her burial was in Boulder City, Utah, where her husband, Jack Hicks was buried, several years ago.  She was the last member of the Harris family and reached the ripe old age of 92 years.
