Rainbow Ridge

Dan Stillings spent all of last week being “Tool Man Dan.” He did what he could to keep track of tools that had been borrowed for the Community Playground Project. He went early and came home late. A lot of people put in a lot of work to complete the first phase of the playground project. Dan was still there Monday watching the tools until people would pick them up.

Norma Stillings got a nice note from Vicki Hendrix of Riverbank California in response to an article about the death of Vicki’s dad, Virgil Hendrix. Norma’s great grandmother, Eliza Wileman Rogers was a sister to Nancy Wileman Hendrix. They were daughters of James C. and Ludica (Roberts) Wileman. Ludica had died and James C. had married Martha Palmer when the Wileman, Rogers, and Hendrix families moved to Missouri from Pike County, Indiana in about 1882 along with some Clinkingbeards and Darrows. They bought homesteads in Township 27 around Pilot Knob. Norma’s dad, Melvin Rogers, wrote in his memoirs about the Rogers and Hendrix families.
