Caney Church

October 5th – Victory in Jesus was the opening song Wednesday evening at Caney.   Bro. Jim was our leader tonight.  He took prayer requests.  Sis. Janice had a praise report concerning her mother’s tests.

We are very thankful for this good report.  We had lots of prayer for Debra Rogers, she is having back surgery tomorrow.  Please pray this will be a successful surgery.   Also keep Gale Adams in your prayers.  The report is she is improving but still needs our prayers.  Sis. Doris led us in prayer.  Bro. Jim taught from Genesis 45.  His thought was “How much is enough”, sure enjoyed his teaching.  Each one had scriptures to read and made some good comments.  Sister Janice had a larger class tonight.  Bro. Jeff will be our leader next week.  We were dismissed in prayer by Sister Janice.

Sunday school opened in singing.  Brother Jack Essary welcomed everyone.  Prayer requests and praise reports were given.  Sis. Elsie Combs led in prayer.

We welcome all our visitors, come again.  Jack read Psalms 33:13-22 for devotion.  After a good Sunday school lesson, happy birthday was sung to Lila Roberts, God bless her.

Testimony was given by Jeff Shipley, Jim Lafferty and Janice Lafferty.

Praise/worship began with singing.  Specials were sung by Kourtney, Gracie Shipley, Hannah Morgan and Melissa Harmon.

Pastor Bill Austin spoke this morning from Philippians 3:10, Isaiah 30:9-12.  I want to know Him.  When you meet Christ your life should change, be like Christ, sympathize with people who suffer sickness, rejection tell them Christ died for them was our good Pastor’s thought.

Sunday evening service began with singing.  Bro. Jeff Shipley took charge of the service taking prayer requests.  Sis. Lila Roberts led in prayer.

Testimonies were given by Hi Lambeth, Bill Austin and Jack Essary.  Special music was by Melba Austin.

Bro. Jim Lafferty was our speaker Sunday evening.  He brought his message from I Peter 5:2-9, II Corinthians 8:10-14.  Witness to others, be an example to them, be ready to work for Christ at all times.  Be of a ready mind and a willing heart was his good thought.

Hay ride October 23rd, pot luck dinner at the church before the ride.
