The biggest news around Bradleyville is the bridge is finally open. It actually opened Oct. 4th around 7 pm, right on schedule. It got a lot of traffic that first night since there was a ballgame at Bradleyville and several had to go home that way. I suspect that even if some people didn’t have to go home that way they just went down and drove across the bridge because they could. We had to go get gas at Kissee Mills Jct. after the ballgame and so could have went home the shortcut way, through F Highway, but I asked Bob if we could go back around through Bradleyville just so we could drive across the bridge.
I made a remark at my dad’s that I thought the new bridge was ugly, it just wasn’t made as pretty as the old one. Well, I stand corrected. Virginia Clayton was visiting Dad and Donna that day and she said she thought the bridge was beautiful, because she didn’t have to go around the detour anymore. I admit that she is right, the bridge is beautiful.
It was good to see Virgil and Lynda Neuenschwander at church Sunday night. They live in Oklahoma most of the year but re-locate to Bradleyville a couple of times a year to stay a month or so and visit with family and friends.
