Sweden Church

Everyone knows that a day is coming that will be their last.  And, presumably, most people worry about it.  The worry is usually whether everything one wants to accomplish in life will be finished when the drum-roll begins.  There is a passage in the Bible that speaks to this subject.  It’s in Luke 12:35-48.

What’s really of interest is the part where the master gives the servant charge of his other servants while he’s away.  The servant thinks to himself, “I’ll do as I please while he’s gone.  I have plenty of time before he comes back to get everything done.”  Isn’t that the way it is?  Each day passes and it’s one day less than yesterday.  But, it’s a slow process and before one knows it, years have gone by.  That’s when the worrying time sets in.

How’s he going to come and find me?  It says in John 9:4 that it is better to take care of things as they come…because…the opportunity to take care of them will be over soon enough.  It will creep up like a thief in the night.

Luke 12:48 is a wonderful reminder of how much is at stake.  With knowledge and privilege comes responsibility.  To fail for someone entrusted with so much brings a double whammy.  Failure is a poor choice in someone who had every chance to do well.  The wise person will finish his tasks and fall asleep at peace in the arms of God.

Copies of the sermon are always available and we would love to send you a CD of it.  They are free.  Call (4l7)543-6219 to get a copy. Have a God-blessed, God-inspired, and God-filled week.
