Quad Cities

10-3-11 – Maybe some words will come to me if I think hard enough. It’s 37 degrees this morning and is supposed to be in the seventies the next few days and even 80 degrees one day. I sure do look forward to that. My furnace still isn’t working. Anita and Carl came out yesterday and he tried to fix it, but couldn’t. So I guess I’ll have to talk to someone who does that kind of work. Fred, my ex-neighbor, talked like he would come down if I wanted him to, so I need to talk to him again and tell him what’s going wrong with it. The thing is – I don’t want to spend a lot of money on this house and then move. Well I guess that’s enough about this old house.

I went to my eye doctor last Thursday in Tipton. He wanted to see me as soon as possible because of the shingles. He wanted to see if they had did any damage to my eyes. They hadn’t, thank goodness. I told him I thought the steriods had caused them and he said they probably did bring them out. I’ve still got the shingles, but they are a lot better. They are still painful at times.

Now I’m getting my winter clothes out and putting my summer clothes away. I’ve got way too many clothes. We had two or three little hummingbirds still here, but I guess they left finally because we haven’t seen them for a couple of day. Some of the Gold Finches are still here, but I expect them to leave any day now. The little groundhog and chipmunk are still around and haven’t hibernated yet.

We saw twelve turkeys out here across the road one day last week.

The last time Rob texted me he was feeling better. Anita told me that my great-grandson, Jacob, had moved to Indiana wih his girlfriend and her dad. I was saddended to hear that. Anita was too. I don’t think him and Ashley will stay out there long. I hope not. Her dad lives there.

The trees are getting really pretty now with their fall colors. I want to take my camera and get some pics in Tipton. They really have preety fall colors there. As pretty as the leaves are now, I still dread winter. It’s supposed to be bad this year because of La Nina. Bad Girl!

Well I must quit trying to find something to write about and start getting ready for the brand new day and whatever adventures it holds for me.

So take care of yourselves and bye, bye for now.
