Olga News

I was sorry to have to miss the second annual Masquerade Ball at the Chateau Charmant in Olga. I understand from Nicholas and Sarah Inman that everything went well and that a fun time was enjoyed by those in attendance. I also understand that Whitney Keith of the Fordland Clinic worked long and hard on the event and that it paid off. This event served as a fundraiser for the clinic, which is truly an asset to our rural community. I would have loved to have seen all the many costumes.

You can now spend the night at the Chateau Charmant. Also, there will be community Thanksgiving dinner at the castle. Everyone will need to bring side dishes and if you can attend, then you will need to RSVP 767-2233.

I was also sorry to miss the annual excursion to the Hampton’s Corn Maze on Sunday. I was working and had to miss all of the fun! I understand that several from our church family got lost in the maze. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoors.

Don Givans, formerly of this neighborhood, will be preaching this Sunday (Oct. 9) at 11 a.m. at the Elkland Independent Methodist Church. If you missed his message during the annual tent revival, then you really missed a special message. Hope you can be there. The Givans family has been special to our family for many years.

There is not much new to report this week. We hope to see you out this way in the near future. God Bless you and your family.
