What a glorious Lord’s Day this past Sunday was. Several of our members were debating just having Sunday school class, and maybe worship services too, out on the front steps. After a short discussion reason triumphed, the possibility of causing an accident out on the highway by so many people praising God that close to the highway was enough to move us into the sanctuary.
Our morning message was preceded by a piano solo by Dr. Janet Martin and a song by Ella Faye Mitchell.
The morning message was “Burning The Book” from our text in Jeremiah 36, where Jehoakim, cut the scroll up and threw it into the fire and God told Jeremiah to write the same words down, and included a few “more, like words,” and how because of his rejection of God’s warning, the wicked king Jehoiakim, lost his kingdom, his life and even a decent burial.
Our evening message was, “Gates, in the New Testament” beginning with the “Straight Gate” in our text, Matthew 7:13.
In case you didn’t make it for church services, just so you know, I’m still saving a seat for you….come on out and be our guest. God will bless you.
