Club members in attendance enjoyed visiting with Lt. Gov. Jim Brisco at last week’s meeting. Since that was the last club meeting for the Kiwanis year, we looked at ways to try to improve our service and impact in the community.
Several members helped with Kiwanis Kids Day which was held last Saturday in the park. Glenda, Donna, Denise, Connie and Dolores were present for the event. Non members who helped were: Rosa Barcus who cooked hotdogs, Evan Little who was an all around help and Tim and Brandon Reese, who helped transport the bounce house.
With Kids Day 2011 in the history books, we will focus our attention to the upcoming Officer Installation, scheduled for Oct. 20 at next Thursday’s meeting. It will also be the first meeting of the 2011-2012 Kiwanis year. Unfortunately, with some members choosing not to renew, we will work with less hands, but hope to have new members coming in very soon!
