Ava 7th grade took first in the Cabool Tournament. Other teams in the tournament were 2nd place Mtn. Grove, 3rd place Houston, and 4th place Cabool.
Ava played each team two games. The Lady Bears started the day with their only loss of the day losing to Cabool 17-25. After that they woke up and did not lose another game all day.
Ava beat Cabool in game two 25-23. Maci Jones served 10/13 with 2 aces; Cera Longino served 8/9 and passed 16/19; Shelby Bushong served 3 aces and had 2 kills, and Laken Dobbs served 4/4 and passed 11/14.
Ava beat a strong Mtn. Grove team in 2 close games, 28-26 and 25-2 with great serving. Shelby Bushong was 11/12 with 7 aces; Cera Longino served 7/7; Kira Collett was 11/11 with 2 aces; Laken Dobbs was 9/9; and Sandra Buff was 5/5. Shelby also had 4 kills, Laken Dobbs passed 23/29, Kira Collett passed 24/29, Paden Coonce was 12/15 passing and Cera Longino passed 26/30.
In the final match Ava beat Houston 28-26 and 25-16. Shelby Bushong was 9/10 serving with 3 aces and 25/29 passing; Cera Longino was 13/16 serving with 3 aces and 17/19 passing; Emily Bailey served 4/4; Sandra Buff was 2/2 serving and 11/15 passing; Maci Jones was 3/3 serving and Laken Dobbs was 12/14 passing.
Ava 8th grade tied for second in win/loss record but ended up third place in point difference behind 1st Place Cabool, and 2nd place Mtn. Grove.
Ava started the day out slowly, losing to Cabool 25-18 and 25-10. Caley Wallace was 5/5 serving, 15/17 passing and 5/5 hitting; Bailey Loge was also 5/5 serving, 9/9 setting and had 2 tips; Hope Evans was 5/5 serving and Keeley Deal was 5/6 serving with 2 aces; and Allison Welch was 6/6 serving with 3 aces.
In the second match of the day, Ava split with Mtn. Grove winning game one 25-22 and dropping game two 19-25. Keeley Deal was 4/4 hitting with 3 kills, 7/8 serving with 2 aces and 13/15 passing; Hope Evans was 10/11 serving with 2 aces and she also had one solo block and 2 tips; Allsion Welch was 8/8 serving and 11/12 passing.
Ava defeated Houston in the last two games of the day 25-17, 25-21. Keeley Deal was 12/13 serving with 3 aces, 10/12 passing and had 2 tips; Allison Welch was 5/5 serving; Hope Evans was 4/5 serving with 2 aces and had 2 kills; Caley Wallace had 5 ace serves, passed 18/20 and set 8/8; Bailey Loge served 9/10 with 3 aces, passed 16/19 and set 9/9; and Hunter Shelton served 3/4 and passed 8/12
