Arno News

I talked with Bonnie Phipps Sunday and she said she went to church.Since it was such a pretty day Bonnie said she gathered some flower seeds and was getting ready for fall. I need to get out and dig some bulbs up, but it will be a while when things slow down.

Another one of our O.E.S. ladies died last Monday. She belonged to the Plato chapter, then Tuesday Lola Long died. She would have been 100 in December and she belonged to the O.E.S. Chapters, Norwood and Mtn. Grove, that makes four of our O.E.S. Sisters going to Heaven. We will miss all four of them.

Tara Coonce and Jett and Lori Coonce and Brett was in my home last Monday and Jett went home with his grandmother, Lori.

Kay picked up my news last Tuesday and James and Lakota stopped by after her ball game was over.

I got out Wednesday and planted my garlic and I hope everyone else did too.

Tara Coonce and Jett was here on Thursday and Carol Moore came by before she went home.

Tom and Mary Martha Williams, Marie Dickey, Carol Moore and Doris Morrison all went to Jerry’s Whirl Wind Thursday night and Wally and Shirley Jessen went too.

That evening I received a call saying that Lakota had hurt herself playing ball and was taken to the hospital. Lakota had hit a double and was sliding into second base and she broke her bone in her left leg next to her ankle. She has a cast up to her knee so she will be off that foot for quite a while.

Lakota is home, but still in some pain. Just say a little prayer for her. By the way they won the game 3 to 1, but that was a hard way to win.

I met Monica and her friend, Dorothy, that works at the Shepherd of the Hills in Branson with her and we went to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memories play in Mansfield and it was an enjoyable night.

Carol Moore, Marie Dickey and Hellen Blakey went to Mtn. Grove Saturday and attended Lola Long’s funeral.

Sunday after church I went down and spent a while with Lakota, James, Kristie and Kendra and then I came back home in time to go to church.

Sunday night was a wonderful service. We opened the doors to the church and had two to join, Jim and Nina Carter. We are sure glad that they have joined.

Remember every one that this Saturday we will be celebrating our 125 Year at Mt. Tabor Church and everyone is welcome. All past preachers who have preached at Mt. Tabor, we ask for you to please come.

Lets keep our sick folks in our prayers. There are lots out there to pray for.

My prayers and sympathy go out to all that have lost a loved one.

Please keep our leaders and the men and women in the service and their families and the ones in training in your prayers.
