Smallett

Sunday morning service opened with the prayer requests and prayer then the praise team did a really good job of leading the congregation with a few songs of praise and worship. A few of the youth group gave some pointers about friendship. Brother Roberts gave a skit about true friendship and how we should act as a true Christian.

The message was from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, “The Value of Friendship.”

Sunday was Friend Day and several people brought friends with them.

There were several missing from church on Sunday due to illness. We pray for their fast and complete recovery.

Those visiting in our home throughout the week were Nora Hunsaker, Lee Williams, Beth Stafford, Johnathan Snelson, Pauline Okhugsen and Donna Bannister.

I took a friend to Springfield on Wednesday for her doctor’s appointment, after which, we stopped and had lunch at Captain D’s.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of a good friend this week. Our sympathy goes out to the Laverne Hicks family.

We have been enjoying the cooler weather and the moisture we have been blessed with lately.

I talked to my granddaughter, who lives in Texas, and she said it is still hot and dry there.

Until next week enjoy the changing of colors in the foliage.
