Hello from our home to your home, time is swiftly passing in September and our Golden Age Games is almost upon us. Mike Burris has made us the most amazing scenery back-drops for our theme of camping I just wish that all of our county could see it- it is so real looking- a country store with advertizing decals on it with trees as background, a porch and shrubs and animals. Also we have a tent and a dock complete with a Tom’s canoe. all for our camping theme- so realistic you can’t believe your eyes–yes a big tree with a bear (a real bear skin) climbing it. We have all worked on some of these. Some of the girls have written a song-pep song-for all to sing-now.
Folks we are getting in the mood—the camping mood–rival mood–for all the contest’s that day at Cabool.
We have so many new residents. It is getting to be a problem with our seating for dining. We have been trying different arrangements
with our tables and finding out which way will seat the most diners, but the way that seats the most diners doesn’t leave much room for the staff to wait upon us. We hope to discover the best way.
Since we have a full house of residents there are many more visitors. This is good for our moral. There seemed to a joyous atmosphere over this last week end. Larry Hampton is back with us to gather strength again. Family and friends have been his frequent visitors and cheered him tremendously. He now has a room where he can watch people come and go in the parking lot, this adds interest to his days.
Benny and Dee Dee Adams were here to see Willene, Angie and Maxine Lirley.
Sunday School Class with Larry Moore was attended where we discussed being merciful as nearly like Jesus was merciful as possible,
searching the scriptures to find the truth and power to be merciful-the Holy spirtit of course!
John Garner has been going to the church where Mike Santos is preaching and wanted Mike to come and speak to us, so Mike came last Friday evening at 5:30 with a good message and fellowship. John was so pleased and I must say we all enjoyed the service and getting acquianted with Bro. Mike. He will be having church every Friday night at 5:30. So please come out and enjoy this service with us.
The Kingdom Kids who are no longer kids was here Saturday after lunch for an awesome gospel music service. This is a group of churches from the Bradleyville area, just think they had two detours to go around just to worship with us. Love this group.
Last Monday Connie Burris and Lena Carline went to Redbud Village to plays games with the residents. Everyone had a very good time.
Heart of the Ozarks residents sponsored a dinner for the residents at Redbud Village. They wanted to do something nice for the them.
Mindy Stout grilled hot dogs and hamburgers served potato chips and baked beans. Dessert was hot apple cobbler with ice cream.
