Glada Faye Watkins, 81 years, 4 months, and 1 day old, passed to heaven on Sept. 23, 2011, at Integris Baptist Medical in Oklahoma City.
Glada was born May 22, 1930 in Bridgeport, Ill., to Ray and Lillie (Brumback) Heath. Glada was employed at Emerson Electric and was a resident of the Ava community for many years.
On Oct. 26, 1946 Glada and Robert Watkins were united in marriage in Bridgeport, Ill., and to this union three children were born.
In her spare time Glada enjoyed embroidering, traveling, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Glada was preceded by her parents, her husband, Robert in 1973, one brother, Leslie Heath and one sister, Lois Crosslow.
Glada is survived by three children and their spouses, Mike and Myrna Watkins, Oklahoma City, Okla., Donna and George Dale, Ava, Mo., and Terry and Jeannie Watkins, Ava, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great -grandchild; three nieces, Kim Hathcock and husband, James, Kathy Williams and husband Robert, and Lynn Parrett; and one nephew, Mark Crosslow.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation was from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating was the Rev. James Hathcock. Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
