Caney News

September 21 – Caney Church came together Wednesday evening with singing. Bro. Jeff was our leader. He took prayer requests and Bro. Jim led in prayer. Bro. Jeff taught from the 11th and 12th chapter of II Samuel, “The Progression Of Sin.” We had lots of comments and a very good discussion. Everyone read their scriptures. Sister Janice taught our young people. Bro. Hi will be our leader next week. We were dismissed in prayer.

Sunday school opened in singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone and prayer requests were taken. Praise reports were given and Sis. Lorrinda Coulter led in prayer. Jack read I Kings 3:5-14 for our devotion.

After Sunday school, Happy Birthday was sung to Lorrinda Coulter and Melissa Harmon. God bless them. Sis. Tracy led the little ones in song. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley and Jim Lafferty. Praise and Worship began with singing. Singing specials today were Laurnea Mitchell, Melissa Harmon and Tabitha and Le-Ann Kinyon. Pastor Bill Austin spoke from John 3:9-15 and others.

Are we complainers or praisers?

He took prayer requests. We have many concerns  – the lost, nation, military, bereaved, sick and our church families. Sis. Ethel Metcalf led us in prayer.

Singing specials were Ethel Metcalf and Aspen Isaacs. Testimonies for the Lord were given by Janice Lafferty, Bill Austin and Hi Lambeth. Bro. Jack Essary was the speaker.

Sunday evening he spoke from Genesis 1:26 and 2:7. He asked a very good question, “If man evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?” As a nation, we are getting farther and farther away from God.

Sometimes we get discouraged but there is a better time coming. Don’t look back, look up. Jesus is coming soon. It was a God sent message.

Remember October is Pastor Appreciation month. We are glad for all those that come out to be with us.

Next Sunday, Oct. 8 after church we will do a deep clean on the church. Those that want to help should stay and bring finger foods for lunch.

Sunday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jeff took charge of the service welcoming everyone.

Earthly treasures will decay and rust, but heavenly treasures will last through eternity. Jesus is that treasure, place yourself in God’s hand. Pray for someone this week.

Come worship with us.
