Bryant Heights

This Monday is cool, but sunshine after the good rain Thursday and Friday night.

It is time to write my column and I do the same as River Stillwood and  what she wrote about in her column last week.  I want her to know she is not alone. I am with you also

I do get help from Gladys Cunningham, Gladys has friends every where and they like to hear from her often. She celebrated her 84th birthday as her family came with a cake and all the trimmings. She received many beautiful cards and phone calls from friends even from Iowa, Illinois and other states.

Cox South honored the many patients that had died in their hospital the last two months, in the memorial was Oscar Cunningham. This was called a “Celebration of Life.” Gladys attended this celebration and reported it was a touching service. The chaplin, Don Lucre, was in this service. He led hymnal singing, prayer, scripture, testimonial and speaking. In spite of the stormy weather, there was about 50 in attendance.

I just now received a phone call from Geneva. She was at the Health Care Center , The Dalles in Oregon with Nadine Sunday. She still has pneumonia.

I did not plan for the church news to be at the end, but that is the way it happened this time. At Seminole, new folks just keep coming and we love them. Pastor Don’s message for the three services was from Ephesians 4:25-32, “There Is A God.” A new creature, old things are passed away, all things become new. Special singer was Dan Chapman, Ed Mills, Terry McClelland and Paul Raper. When the men sing, they bring the house down. I tell them they should go on the road, but they tell me they like it here at church. We are blessed with many good singers, both men and ladies.

Enjoy your day and God bless you all.
