It is unpredictable whether “routine plans” can be carried out as I experienced last week, and spent some time in Baxter County Regional Hospital. I appreciate those helpful ones who stayed with me there for moral support and my daughter who got me home.
Best wishes to Paul Breyne who ahs had shoulder surgery and is a patient in the hospital over the weekend, hoping to come home Tuesday. Judy’s grandson, in Sedalia, was injured on his job, but is now back at work.
Lilly Ridge Church had their bi-montly Sunday dinner, and appreciation to Beulah Satterfield for bringing me a nice plate of food home.
Congratulations to Paul and Carol Aronis in Springfield on their 40th anniversary September 3rd, which was Saturday. Paul dispatches the gasoline deliveries for our area from Mt. Vernon, MO.
Marlyn Pitcock and granddaughter, Olivia Vega, spent Saturday with me, from Forsyth, and Lydnon, Linia and Tyler Pitcock, also came for the day, from Fair Grove. They brought my newest great-granddaughter, Chloe Mae Wright, justĀ four weeks old, as her mother, Mindy, was at work again. It was a treat to get acquainted with the “little bundle of joy” for the first time. She was my 25th great-grandchild.
Chet and Dana Taylor visited me while the hospital, and also Sunday afternoon here at home. Chet is expected to have shoulder surgery in the near future.
Best wishes to Barney Douglas as he has to be careful to not get a hard fall. Alva Hollingsworth had a fall Saturday evening and we send best wishes to him and Phyllis.
Present for the Harrison and Iva (Lawson) Friend family reunion Sunday, which was held at Hoerman Park, were 81 of their decedents. There were six girls and two boys of their family of twenty-one children (orignally). The weather was nice, and everyone had a good time.
Visiting from Texas was three year-old, Madelyn Corbin, with her grandparents, Joe and Lou Arta Corbin last month. They have their three “grands”, who live nearby, to keep, and put on the school bus each day.
Joe and Lou Arta went to Yukon, Oklahoma recently to visit the Angus Express Ranch, where the prize Angus are raised.
Marcia Lyon had surgery in Mtn. Home last week and is a very active lady. Her friends wish her the best.
Marcia’s husband, Dean, has a bad back and isn’t feeling too good either.
Zachary and Allison Suman visited their grandparents, Roger and Jean Suman, and attended a week of VBS at Isabella, where their Uncle Joe and Aunt Ernestine were in charge.
While here Saturday, Lyndon and Marlyn Pitcock mowed and weedeated my dusty yard. Rain is really needed.
I hear that Harold and Velma Strain have a good, late garden and have even canned green beans.
Don Williams had a load of peaches Tuesday on the square in town. They were a treat to get this time of year. Watermelons and cantaloupes are out of season now, where Don usually gets them.
More news next week.
