Sunday morning service was opened with prayer requests and prayer then the praise team, Curly Rawlings, Shelden Walker, Melanie Breeding and Richelle Shelton, did an awesome job of leading praise songs.
Brother Roberts brought the message from Hebrews 4:12, “Back To the Bible.”
Sunday evening service was a short business meeting then a prayer service.
Gathering at the home of Bob and Nora Edwards on Tuesday evening for a barbecue were Toby and Jacinda Sheppard, Shelden and Kendra Walker, Miranda Milligan, Shawn and Alexis Swearengin. Cupcakes and strawberry cheese cake was also served in honor of Toby’s birthday.
Shelden Walker visited his grandparents, Bob and Nora Edwards on Sunday efternoon.
Enjoying a cookout at the home of Toby and Jacinda Sheppard and Shelden and Kendra Walker on Sunday evening were Miranda Milligan, Shawn and Alexis Swearengin and Jessica Berry. Visiting with them later were Bob and Nora Edwards.
Gary and Bevy Moore had supper with Delmar and Margaret Rosseau on Saturday evening. Donna Bannister visited with us on Friday evening.
I really enjoyed a trip to Ava Drug on Monday with Stacie, Mahayla, Miley and Lucas Hamby. We were celebrating Miley’s first birthday with ice cream and sodas.
Delmar and I camped a couple of days at Shadowrock Park in Forsyth. We visited with Betty and Justice DeChenne while there.We made a trip to Dick’s 5 and 10 in Branson. I love to browse in that store. It is like when I was a little girl. We cut our camping short because of my taking a fall and getting bruised up. No broken bones , just sore.
On Saturday Delmar and I drove to Branson and enjoyed the White River Electric meeting then came back through Ozark and then stopped at Sparta at a yard sale where Dan and Kay Carmichael were having the sale. We enjoyed the visit with them. We then came through Mansfield and visited with Nora Hunsaker and Lee Williams. On Saturday evening Vern and Chris Deatherage stopped by to visit.
On Wednesday Betty DeChenne, Delmar and I drove to Springfield and visited with Frank Rosseau. On Sunday Delmar and I enjoyed visiting at the Breshears-Hylton Reunion. Delmar and I joined in the celebration on Sunday afternoon for Miley Hamby’s first birthday in the home of her parents, Mike and Stacie Hamby. Several family and friends joined the fun.
We are sorry to hear that our Sis, Dorothy Burton, is in the hospital. We got word today that she is doing better. We were glad to hear good news.
I talked to Uncle Hugh and Aunt Violet Morris and they are doing pretty good. Aunt Violet is doing some embroidery on quilt blocks. Uncle Hugh just sleeps a lot.
It is very uplifting to be reading News from the Homestead again. We are glad River is doing better and back to writing about the things we enjoy reading about. Keep up the good work, River. Until next week remember to smile and the world will smile with you.
