Sheriff’s Office Plans Coats For Kids Softball Tournament

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is once again planning its coats for kids softball tournament. If you would like to place a team in the tournament or make a donation call 683-8787 after 5 p.m.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has distributed over 150 coats to local children in Douglas County since Sheriff Degase took office in 2009. The Sheriff’s Office has also distributed shoes and clothing to those in need through the winter months.

The program is made possible by donations and the annual softball tournament. The Sheriff’s Office works closely with the three local schools to identify those who are in need of a coat. The coats and shoes are then purchased through the local merchants.
