The weather has been beautiful the last week or so, as for me the temperature could stay this way. We’ve had sadness in our family, over the passing away of our sister, Reatha Haas. Her obituary will be found in the paper. She had been in ill health for some time. We can rejoice because we know she is no longer in pain and that she is with her Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. She will be sadly missed by her loved ones.
Freda Richards has been sick for a week or so, but is feeling better at this writing. Karl and Keith was working on her house over the weekend. Of all things her hot water tank leaked and ruined the bathroom and kitchen floor.
We attended the Plainview basketball games Thursday and Friday nights. They won one and lost one, both boys and girls, the games were in Kirbyville.
We, along with Helen Dobbins, visited at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center Saturday with Peggy Jenkins, Goldie Miller and Irene Richards. They all semed about the same. Lena Pierce was there visiting Louise Jennings and others.
Goldie Richardson from Oldfield called to remind me of the Applegate Reunion this Saturday, September 17 at the Ozark City Park. She said Applegates were coming from several states. My Aunt Vi Twibble from Ozarks is the oldest Applegate from Gilbert Applegate’s family, that I know of. She is 94 years old. She lives by herself and goes anywhere she wants to. She is a one of a kind lady. Kailey Thompson, Montana Lavelle, Dian Swadley and Bailey helped Hailey Applegate celebrate her 12th birthday Saturday night and Sunday in Springfield with Hailey’s grandma.
Johnny Swadley spent the weekend with Kyle Thompson.
