There is not much news to report this week. Pleasant Ridge did enjoy the lower temperatures on Sunday and had a good turnout for Church. Pastor Carl brought the morning message from Hebrews 10:7-18, Christ Sacrificed Once and For ALL. Laveta and Susie had 13 in Children’s Church. Specials were done by Katryn and Syklar and Wanda Dugan. We are always blessed by the special songs done by our members.
Billy Joe and I received a call from a former pastor’s wife on Sunday. Judy and Bob Gilmore of Mtn. Grove were pastoring when we started going to Pleasant Ridge in 1979. Brother Bob took the church when there were only three ladies left, Ruby Williams, Eva Garrison and Hattie Dever. He came back to pastor once more several years later. Brother Bob is in his 80’s with health problems and no longer can pastor a church. It is always nice to hear from old friends and neighbors.
I wish we could have received some moisture with this weather change. It is getting very dry here and the grass has turned brown. We won’t need to do any mowing for a while.
I had a phone visit with Sara Paul this past week. She reports daughter, Nancy, had an accident with her bike and broke her shoulder.
Connie and Jim Porter’s daughter is here visiting from Washington state.
Till next week enjoy the cooler weather and God Bless.
