Eastern Gate and Around the Mountain

Labor Day has come and gone. What did you do? Some people used it as a last excuse to spend some time at the lake or like me and my husband, we spent the weekend doing some extra labor around the house.

We had an extra day off work, so we worked at home. If we all put in even 10% as many hours working for God as we do everything else, imagine how much we could get accomplished.

Donald preached Sunday about what would happen if God would send Jesus down right then to gather His people home. When we heard the trumpet’s sound and we rose up with our Lord and Savior would you be with us, or would you be left behind?

We had two birthdays Sunday – Larry Hutchinson and Jolly Johnson. Two good men and nice neighbors, but don’t tell them I said so.

We have done some family visiting. We met my granddaughter, Courtney and Rilee, at the mall and put feathers in their hair, part of Court’s birthday present. We visited with Howard and Phyllis, and went to the nursing home and saw my mother, Bob and Angie. Mom said David had been to see her. It’s good to take time to visit with family.

I found out Sunday that Portia and I are precious. Now if we could just get Roger and Donald to treat us with tender, loving care. Such good men!

God made all people precious in His sight, do we give Him the love that He truly deserves? We are to love God with all of our hearts. Hope you enjoy the cooler temperatures and look forward to all the wonderful things fall offers.
