Opening Sunday school Roy Hampton gave a good talk about the Lord. How we ought to be thankful for the many blessings he gives us day by day.
Lee Hampton taught the 22nd chapter of Luke for our lesson. We started over with Matthew and are just in Luke. We like to comment and discuss each verse and everyone has a part in the discussion. It’s real interesting to me and a lot that I wouldn’t have thought of if we hadn’t asked questions to learn more. We had our regular questions and answers. We had several answers to one question. Sometimes you have the answers in three or four different places in the Bible. We took up the morning offering. Roy Hampton asked the blessing. We sang Happy Birthday to two people that had birthdays. We had congregational singing at the 11 o’clock hour.
Susie Sisco sang a special.
The Labor Day weekend had lots of our members away, but we had a good service. The church quartet sang as well as, Ronnie Thomas, Sue Thomas, Sue Sisco, Joe Lafferty and Clara Lafferty.
The morning service Joe Lafferty preached the tenth chapter of St. Johns. We had our invitational song. Bro. Lee Hampton dismissed in prayer.
Evening service started at 6:00 with congregational singing. Sue Sisco sang. Bro. Lee Hampton preached in Matthew 10:24 and led in prayer. Bro. Roy Hampton preached Matthew 16:13 and Luke 16:14.
Matthew 10, Joe Lafferty preached on and commented on that. We had a few testimonies. We had altar prayer. Roy Hampton led and Ronnie Thomas closed the prayer and dismissed us.
Don’t forget Friday night singing at Breedon at 7:00 p.m. and there is going to be an offering for Dana Lafferty’s mom, Loretta Corneliuson, to help pay doctor and hospital bills for heart surgery. She is doing pretty good. She also has sugar diabetes, so we would like to help her as much as possible.
God bless. Until next time.
