With just 3 weeks to go, we’re in the final planning stages for this momentous project to benefit the youth of Douglas County and surrounding areas. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of it!
We already have a lot of fine people who have stepped up to help during build week. We still need more assistance. Even if you can only make it for a single 5 hour shift, contact our Volunteer Coordinator: Tina Henry at 417-683-6848. Can’t work, but you can help out by watching the children of those volunteers that are working? Contact our Childcare Coordinator: Amy Hirschi at 417-250-0297.
Lend us your tools for a week! We need everything from hammers to heavy equipment. We especially need drills and heavy-duty extension cords. Your tools will be under 24-hour surveillance and locked-up when not in use. We promise your tools will be returned in as good, or better condition as when you lent them to us, or we will replace them —guaranteed. Contact our tool coordinators: Lacey or Zac Slagle at 683-1781
The playground will be bordered by a fence. That fence will be made up of personalized pickets engraved with the name of the individual, family, or business who buys the picket. Or, you can have a personalized message, memorial, bible verse, or whatever you want! Our first order was placed this past Tuesday to make sure that they’ll be here by build week, but we will continue to have them available for purchase right up until build completion.
We appreciate everyone’s voting efforts in July, the playground won a $25,000 grant from Pepsi. So we’re going for another one—this time, for $50,000! We can do it!
