Sandy Church

As we came together on our Lord’s Day, we stood to read our devotional from Philippians 1.  Prayer requests were given for Warren McKee, John & Heather Hampton, Rick Crum, who is in Oregon visiting family, Gail Adams, having surgery, our nation, leaders, military and, as always, our service today for without the Holy Spirit we can do nothing.  Doyle Humbyrd prayed this prayer.  Brad Siler prayed the offertory prayer as he and Josh Dalton received our Lord’s tithes and offerings.  Danny Johnson led in songs of praise.

Pastor Neal read from Luke 9.  Jesus is alone praying.  He then asks his disciples “Who say the people that I am?”  Then He said if you will follow me, do three things—deny thyself, take up your cross daily and follow me.  Today we ask “who is Jesus?”  He is the Christ, the Son of God, who suffered and died, arose on the third day and is coming again for those who are looking for Him.

At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal prayed followed by singing.  Testimonies were shared.  Pastor Neal continued in Luke 9, Jesus going to the mountain to pray.  There he was changed.  His face was shining; his raiment was white and glistening.  We were dismissed in prayer by Brad Siler.
