Faith Rock

Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me oh God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

We had very good services Sunday. Bro. Benny Dewitt brought us a good sermon from Mark 9:14-29 and I Corinthians 1:18. A good sermon on the boy being healed who had a deaf and dumb spirit and his disciples had been unable to cast the deaf and dumb spirit out of him. Later Jesus told His disciples that this kind only came out by prayer and fasting. Pastor Dewitt said we need to awake that God wants to give us His very best. We had lots of people singing specials.

We went to the Fourth Sunday Singing at the New Dogwood Nazarene Church. It was very beautiful and with lots of room. We all enjoyed their hospitality and the singing was very good.

Sunday night service back at Faith Rock for the 6 p.m. service, several visitors with good special singing and a healing service afterward.

I had bad news from my family in Vacaville, California. My niece, Kathy Sherrill Klohn, passed away Friday. She had been ill for a long time and took dialysis three times a week for her kidneys. Her dad, Wayne Sherrill, orginally from Ava, died the week before and her mother, Doris, my sister passed away last year.

I called my sister, Verda and Roger Komlo, who live in Hayes, Virginia. Their power had been out since Saturday night. She said the wind was terrible all night. She didn’t expect to have power for a week. They had a generator and was pretty well prepared for the hurricane.

We also heard Sunday that Ronnie Fleetwood had passed away. His mother, Sis. Doris Fleetwood, was an evangelist and singer for many years. She and Sis. Marie Long traveled and preached the gospel wherever they were invited and she would play her guitar and they would sing together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Phyllis and family.

Also today, being Monday, we heard by phone that Ralph Turley passed away. We’ve probably known him since he moved to this area about 50 years ago and worked for Williams Grocery on the square. The people at the Senior Center will certainly miss his presence as he had been coming for some time there.

Quilting tomorrow at Faith Rock.

I want to mention Bro. Ray and Leah Lee, our good friends are both patients at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center. They are both in need of our prayers and send cards to Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center.
