Sunday, August 21 Preston Breshears was at our church giving his testimony. Around five months ago he was in a horrific semi accident. Many people would have given up, but Jesus was there through it all. Surviving what Preston did, we know God has a purpose in his life. Remember Preston in your prayers. He is another one of God’s miracles.
Wednesday August 24, we had prayer meeting. Special prayer requests were for Connie and Leah Lee, Cudney family, Wilerson’s, James Coonts and all of our children returning back to school.
Scripture given was Matthew 7:24-27, II Timothy 2:19 and Proverbs 3:5-7, tells us to turn everything over to God, in ourselves we can do nothing, let Him direct our path. James 2:17 tells us “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone, put your faith in action.
Thank you Jesus for the beautiful day you have given us.
Sunday morning requests were from Ronnie Fleetwood family, Leah and Connie and military men and women.
Our Sunday school lesson was given by Michael Maran. This young man has a way with words. Starting off he said, “Linda does a lot of talking”, “I expect to be talked to.” Another thing he said that caught my attention, Christians can get a virus, not on fire as we first were, failure to do the things we need to do to keep us strong, pray, read the word and commune with God.
Special prayer requests were for Carrie Burkdoll, Ryan Michael Drew and Connie and Leah.
The evening message started with a question. Do you want to know what to do to get rid of the devil? Don’t worry, he will leavefor a season. Satan comes against us when we are at our weakest, Matthew 4:1-10.
Jesus had fasted forty days and nights, guess who shows up? Jesus was hungry and Satan told Jesus, “Command these stones to be turned into bread.” Then came the pinnacle, also the high mountain. Jesus had the answer to every temptation.
“Get thee behind me Satan,” For it is written, verse 10. That is our weapon against Satan. The word, prayer and telling Satan, get behind me, quote the word unto him and he will flee, for a season.
Prayer requests were for Max and Linda, Joe Hicks, The Lee’s, Nita Holt, Issac, Richard, Bevy’s daughter and Ronnie Fleetwood family and praise God for Marvin Graham’s good report.
