Our center will be closed on Monday for the Labor Day holiday.
Our menu for the rest of the week is: Tuesday, September 6—Chili, crackers, peanut butter sandwich, carrots, cake. Wednesday, September 7—Roast beef, baked potato, broccoli, roll, peaches. Thursday, September 8—Pork chop, dressing, salad, peas and carrots, fruit. Friday, September 9—Spaghetti and meatballs, green beans, roll, pudding.
Remember to come by on Saturday, September 10, and have breakfast with us for our 16th annual Miles for Meals fundraiser. Gentry Church will be singing at 7:30; Do-Wrights at 8:30; After Hours Pickers at 9:30 and the Bradleyville General Baptist Church at 10:30.
The Douglas County Council on Aging Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 6, at noon; Alternative Opportunities will meet on Wednesday, as well as the Arthritis exercise class; Grace Health Care will conduct a foot clinic from 9:00 to 3:00 on Thursday. A $5.00 donation is suggested and if you want to avail yourself of this opportunity, you must make an appointment at 683-5712. The OATS bus will be in Ava on Friday. The Mark Twain National Forest will present a Walk When the Moon is Full program on Friday at 11:00.

We continue to receive calls and people coming to the center inquiring about the Social Security Representative. Because of funding cuts, the representative no longer makes trips to outlying counties. Seniors in Douglas County must travel to Springfield, Lebanon, or West Plains.
