August Citizens of the Month Are Responsible Students

Ava High School’s character word for the month of August was Responsible, and the month’s Citizens of the Month were Jacob Wright and Ashlyn Mitchell.
Jacob is the son of Dean and Sabrina Wright. He earned Citizen of the Month for demonstrating responsibility in his scool work.
Jacob’s teacher said, “Since his middle school days, Jacob has shown remarkable growth in the area of responsibility.  He is doing all of his assignments, participating in class discussions, comes to class on time and is accountable for his behaviors.”  After high school, he plans to join the Army, then go to college and join the police force.
Ashlyn Mitchell, daughter of Sharla McGuire and Dustin Mitchell has earned this outstanding character award.
At AHS she is involved in Pep Club, Anchor Club, NHS, STUCO, FBLA, Spanish Club, softball, speech and debate.
Her teacher said, “Ashlyn is a busy senior but remains loyal to academics.
Even with softball games, her work is turned in on time and she always collects assignments before the day of the game if she will be missing class. She has also challenged herself with classes as a senior that will help her to be ready for college.
Ashlyn has always been one of the most responsible students I’ve ever had.  She is always on time and makes sure her homework is completed.  Ashlyn studies hard even though much of her time is spent playing softball.”
After high school, Ashlyn plans to attend college, while playing softball and major in accounting.
