All Around Bradleyville

The hummingbirds are swarming my feeders, tanking up and getting ready for their big fall migration. I counted around 32 hummingbirds around my four feeders, but there could have been 10 more or less than that, it is pretty hard to keep track of them when they are zipping back and forth between the feeders. I read in a magazine that when they are doing that they are already migrating and passing through and it probably isn’t the same birds from day to day but I don’t know if I believe that or not. They sure are entertaining to watch, no matter.

Congratulations to Sydney Harris on the birth of her son, Wyatt James. Wyatt was born August 23, weighed 9.4 pounds and was 21 inches long. He has lots of dark hair and is very adorable. At only 5 days old he attended church for the first time last Sunday with his mother and very proud grandparents.

I really appreciate Kelvin Whittaker with his trailer, Scott Lawson, Bob Case and Corby Lux for helping to move a piano from my house to Teresa Rayburn’s house last week. When Teresa and Brett moved into the house they are living in now they didn’t know if they would have room for the piano, so I told them I would keep it at my house.

Teresa decided there was room in the house for it, and she missed playing it so much she decided to have it moved back to her house. Teresa’s aunt had given her the piano and it has great sentimental value to her. Melanie Whittaker came with Kelvin to move the piano and we had a good visit while the men were loading it.

Melanie was telling me at church Sunday that she has been going to Silver Dollar City to see the gospel groups that are singing there all over the park right now. She was there last week with Eddie and Leona Hunsaker and they had seen Gold City and several more groups and really enjoyed it. She was planning to go back this week.

Ivan Lawson has been here visiting a couple of days and has really enjoyed seeing how much Garrett has grown and changed since he was here last. Garrett is 5 months old now and Ivan hadn’t seen him since he was a month old, so there was quite a difference.

Sunday afternoon Scott and Julie Lawson had to make a trip to Dawt Mill with a trailer to haul back Ivan’s car that had broken down and then back to Ava where they enjoyed a fish fry with Scott’s dad and the family.

Alicia Crouch, Julie Lawson, Garrett and I visited with my folks, Willie and Donna Sloan last Wednesday. Dad was checking his garden to see if the latest crop of beans were getting big enough to eat.

They’ve already had several messes of beans from their garden this year.
