We got enough rain showers to make the grass grow last week, though other neighborhoods got more rain than we did.

Bob and Imogene Grisham served a delicious dinner to the officers of Gainesville Eastern Star Chapter Monday evening, August 22nd, a special treat. Our Chapter meetings begin September 12th, after being “on vacation” in July and August. All members are encouraged to attend as we will have an election of new officers for the new year. Come get acquainted with our newest members and enjoy the fellowship and dinner at 6:30 pm.
Maxine Smith and Edith McKinnon attended the Ladies brunch and worship services at Frontier Church last Saturday.
The bi-monthly dinner at Lilly Ridge church will be the first Sunday of September which is the 4th.
The benefit for Ronnie Strain was quite successful and well attended.
The families of Stephanie Curtright and Athel Jackson who lost their loved ones have our sympathy.
Lilly Ridge church is looking forward to our fall revival, October 2nd through the 6th. Rev. Zack Williams will preach Sunday night, Bro. Dale Roberts, Monday night, Bro. Robert Roberts on Tuesday night, Bro. Randy Dalton on Wednesday night and Bro. Bill Bales Thursday night. Good crowds are expected each night.
Maxine Smith’s cousin, Bill Stone and wife, from Hugo, Oklahoma and Bill’s sister, Ailene Harris, from Mtn. Home, Arkansas, visited her Sunday afternoon.

I am having a procedure done at Baxter Hospital Wednesday morning. My daughter, Karen K. Davis, will be with me.
