Good news from the hills and hollers of our community. Ervin Maggard is back home from having a heart transplant. All you good folks that prayer for him, we really got results and the family really appreciates everyone.
Maybe before long he told his mom he would like to come home and fire his Chevy up and come to the country. He made it home, but he loves where he grew up at, the hills and hollers of Highlonesome and Boulders Fork. Hi parents, Preston and Iona, his sister, Bonita and brother, Ivan, lived by us for many years.
Sunday at Garrison Missioneray Baptist Church God blessed us with 63 present. They had three special songs. The message was preached by pastor James Orick. We had several visitors, some local and some from out of state. You all are always welcome at any or all our services.

Rex and Shirley Halcomb attended the Phillip family reunion Sunday. They counted 51, but wasn’t for sure if they counted everybody. Shirley’s brother and wife, Dale and Paula Phillips, came in from Oklahoma. They had been visiting their son, Jason and family. Shirley said they had a good time and the Bruner community building was very nice.
Bob and Luella Rains attended a birthday party after church for grandson, Lane. I believe I got the name right. My hearing is not to good.
Kerry and Dana Lafferty and girls and Mike and Judy Willis returned from Florida. Kerry is ready to move there. I asked Dana if he enjoyed the sand between his toes? She said yes. After she got back she brought her mom home and she is better.
Lyn Halcomb called, she was tired from her and Shelley’s trip, but they really enjoyed it. She always tells me to tell our family she loves them and hi to Iona and Edith Maggard. Lyn and Iona both lived on Boulders at the same time. They have lots of memories, also Janie Morrison, a long time friend.
Saturday the Jones families around Garrison were having family fun day. They do a lot of things together.
Several from the church attended Melissa Paynes’ graduation from Drury College.
Saturday night Tracy Tim had some friends at their new home. Valerie Austin was one of them. Tracy’s maiden name is Rozell, I don’t know her married name. They had Garrison Church to see their new home after services one Sunday night. Their home is the first house on the hill going toward Chadwick after you past the church. They are a very nice young couple. They made us feel right at home and served some nice and very good refreshments.
Christy Lakey and family enjoyed a day Saturday at Silver Dollar City sponsored by St. Johns. Granddaughter, Shelby, was still excited and talking about it Sunday.
