Opening payer to start our morning service was by Joie Welker. In our Sunday school class, we read from the book of Ruth, how Boaz showed kindness to Ruth. God blesses us as we show kindness and take care of the poor and needy.
Happy Birthday wishes went out to Beverly Tetrick.
Remember James and Elaine Coonts in your prayers. James’ condition is not good and family are here.
A big crowd attended the benefit singing at Dogwood Nazarene Friday night. My son, Kevin, and grandkids, Hannah and Keaton, spent the night with me and was one of the singing groups.
Harley and Faye Allen attended the Swofford Family Reunion hosted by Rolla and Faye Swofford at the Squires Community Building. Nine of the family members rented a shuttle bus and toured the Boston Mountains in Arkansas on Sunday and Monday. Two of Faye’s sisters, Shirley and Charlotte, spent the week with them and attended church with them.
Remember the Fourth Sunday Singing the 28th will be at Dogwood Nazarene Church beginning at 2 p.m.
Bro. Ean Hendrick’s morning message was from Luke 19:1-10, about how Zaccheaus was rich and was hated by the people. He met Jesus and his life was changed. He offered to give up his riches and pay back the wrongs he had done to the people. He became a new creature, old things are passed away. He will be preaching for us next week also.
Sunday night after good congregational singing and testimonies, Matt and Joanne Welker and a trio of Matt, Rod and Wanda Welker did specials.
Bro. Hendrick’s evening sermon was from Luke 5:36. God offers us a new life in Christ. We have to except the total package not bits and pieces. He gives us happiness, joy, peace and comfort. The greatest thing we have in this life came at a cost and Christ paid the full amount.
