Opening Sunday school, Joe Lafferty read the 28th Psalms. Clara Lafferty led in prayer. Lee Hampton taught the 20th chapter of Luke, “Leaders Challenging The Authority of Jesus.” We had questions and answers. Some of the questions we didn’t find, but we finally got them answered.
We sang Happy Birthday to Noah and David Haden. Noah is two. It doesn’t seem possible. They really grow up fast, maybe not to the parents, but to the grandmas.
Lee Hampton took up he morning offering, Joe Lafferty asked the blessing. Susie Sisco sang.
Joe Lafferty’s morning text was from the fourth chapter of Acts, “Jesus Healed the Crippled Man.” He also led in prayer. We sang our invitational song. Bro. Lee Hampton dismissed the service in prayer.
Evening service started with singing. Susie Sisco, Sue Thomas and Ronnie Thomas all sang. Joe Lafferty’s text was from the 23rd chapter of Matthew, “Turn The Other Cheek.” That is hard to do when someone treats you bad, but through Christ we can do anything. We had testimony service and everyone prayed at the altar. We need to always pray for the sinner. I think sometimes we forget to pray for them. The altar prayer was our dismissal prayer.
We had a good offering for the benefit over at the Dogwood Nazarene. I’m glad people are good to help when hospital bills get so high that we all can help.
God bless until next week.
