Ava Community Playground

Are  you a leader?  Can you take direction and then in turn give it?  If you are a skilled construction worker– WE NEED YOU during Build Week! The playground project is in need of 12 Construction Captains. You will be assigned a crew for each day consisting of skilled and unskilled volunteers, work closely with the playground design engineers and oversee the general construction of the playground. Please make plans to attend Organization Day this Saturday, August 20th at 10 am behind the MOCH Wellness Center at the playground build site.  A representative from the company that designed the playground, Leathers & Associates, will be here to go over detailed plans for build week, which is scheduled for October 4th-10th.

Using a “Barn Raising” method of construction, we’ll need 1200+ volunteers to raise the playground in 7 days.  Working multiple shifts, volunteers will build everything from slides, swings, mazes to fences.  Learn a new skill, work with your neighbors, be a part of something wonderful.  Everyone can contribute: serving food, childcare, pounding nails, painting, etc.  Just volunteer, we’ll find something for you to do!  Meals and Childcare will be available at no charge for all volunteers helping with the build, so  PLEASE SIGN UP TODAY!

Please visit www.avaplayground.com or email your information to avaplayground@live.com and one of our project members will be contacting you in the very near future to confirm which days / times you would be available to help!
