Reunion Planned For Former Orchard Workers

The Historical Preservation committee of the Seymour Area Arts Council is planning a reunion of people that worked in the Seymour area orchards and strawberry fields. The reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, from 2 until 3 p.m. at the School Mom’s Building. The committee felt that the Apple Festival would be a most appropriate time for such an event because the annual festival was named after Seymour’s oldest industry, the Apple orchards.

Mrs. Donna Embrey, a longtime employee of the Vollenweiders, and successor orchard operators, will host this event. Anyone that ever worked in the Seymour orchards, Apple House, or strawberry fields is encouraged to spend some time with Donna and others as they reminisce about their experiences and work during the apple season.
