Olga News

Another beautiful morning here in the Ozarks as I pen this report. There has been much activity in our neighborhood this past weekend, as many have been venturing out this way to see the Castle and enjoy the remaining weeks of summer.

This past week, I enjoyed seeing dear friend, Lou and Kathy Rees as I visited with their family. They are such great neighbors and when I worked at Kindall Store, it was always nice to visit with her as we played cards together.

I understand that the B Dobrick of Niangua family was among the visitors to the Olga area this weekend, as they visited the Cardwell Chapel Cemetery, Kindall Store and the Chateau Charmant. The Dobrick’s are so much fun and I hear they really loved the area and the breathtaking views from the many hillsides. Come back and visit this way anytime that you all have a chance.

The Chateau Charmant, the “castle” in Olga, will play host to the 2nd annual Masquerade Ball benefiting the Fordland Clinic on Oct. 1. You will not want to miss this special event. I had a nice visit over the phone with LaFaun Lea about this and it was nice to hear from her. She is such a kind lady, who has much history in our neighborhood.

Looking forward to hearing Rev. Bob Huskey of Dogwood as he preaches during the first night of the 5th annual tent revival at Elkland. Brother Huskey, who was the minister at the Dogwood Church of the Nazarene will bring the message on Sept. 14. at 7 p.m. Hope to see several from the area. It is always a pleasure to be with the Huskeys, such good people.

Off for another day of getting caught up. Always seems like I am so far behind. Have a great week and hope to see you out this way in the near future.
