Arthritis Foundation Program Being Offered In Ava

Looking for a better way to manage arthritis pain?

Not all arthritis pain relief comes from a bottle. The Arthritis Foundation in partnership with University of Missouri Extension will be offering the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program. Designed especially for people with arthritis, this class helps participants maintain their fitness levels while reducing their arthritis pain.

Although designed for those with arthritis, the class is also a good fit for those who simply wish to get in better physical condition.

Classes will be held at the Ava Senior Center in Ava, and will be taught by Angie Fletcher, MU Extension Human Development Specialist and Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program Certified Instructor. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning Aug. 29 and will run through Oct. 5. Classes will run from 10 to 11 a.m.

There is no charge for the class, however, a minimum of 10 participants must be registered in order for the class to be held. To register of to find out more information, contact at the Douglas County Extension office at 417-683-4409.
