Everyone was so thankful for the rain and the cooler temperatures for a few hours. Choir special today was “His Grace is Sufficient.” Virginia Serghides did the reading, “The Smell of Rain.” Virginia Serghides was the teacher in Children’s Church today. Prayer requests: Sandra Hawkins, Mark Swartzfigur, Joyce Washburn, Joyce Deeds, Stanley Nehr, Jennifer Alexander, Caleb Dixon and the military families, Kennah Atchison, Missions Conference, Pilot Marler, Bernice Price’s brother in law, the elderly in the heat, Joe Sellars family, Mike Moore family, Joplin families, and Sharon Renfrow.
Upcoming Events: Quarterly Meeting at the Houston FWB on Aug. 13, 9 a.m.; Aug. 14, barbeque in the parsonage yard at noon for the church members and visitors. Women’s Conference in Hartville at 8 a.m. on Aug. 20; and Youth to Earth Adventure Outdoors on Sept. 10, zipline, picnic and other activities. Call Rick Batten if you have questions.
Today’s sermon was from Nehemiah 9:32-33. “We all have problems in our lives. To deal with our problems, we must admit that we have a problem and seek a remedy. We should be looking for the real answer and a real solution.”
Bro. Rick gave many good examples. He told four ways to solve a problem. Bro. Rick invited everyone to remember the barbecue next Sunday in the parsonage yard. Invite friends. Table settings, hamburgers, hotdogs, watermelon and drinks will be provided. Bring a lawn chair and plan to stay a while to visit.
