What a summer we’ve had so far. It’s been a hot one but we’ve had lots of cool stuff going on in the life of the church.
Our White River camps were able to get kids together and have some fun as well as learning lessons about Jesus and how much we love Him and try to do what Jesus wants us to do. They had a great time and we want to say we appreciate everyone who volunteered with our young people and those who made treats and desserts for them as well.
Our Fourth of July service was very moving and it made us so appreciative to those men and women who fought to make our freedom so precious to us. We owe them so much for their bravery and courage and we are so proud of them. Thank you for those that were able to speak out and discuss a time that must have been very frightening and so uncertain about what tomorrow would bring. We are very blessed to have shared in that and we pray God has blessed you as well.
Our Vacation Bible School was terrific! It was Panda Mania!! Lots of young people were there each evening, ready to learn about Jesus and also getting to fellowship with others and having a great time. We appreciate those gentlemen who made the stools for the children’s crafts project. You were a blessing and helped create a very positive thing for the Children to take home with them. Also, to the leaders and volunteers who put together that VBS program. You outdid yourselves and the children were awesome.
Pastor Oren has been reading from Malachi for the morning scripture lessons in worship. This week we read Mal.3:13- 4:2. We have a choice of accepting Jesus Christ as our savior and Lord or ignoring His Word. If we ignore Him and are arrogant in our attitude, we are lost forever. Don’t give in to the world and don’t want to take the time or you don’t want to be told how to live your life. God deserves to be honored, loved and obeyed. He deserves all our obedience and love because He loved us so much that He sent His Son to die in our place. When Jesus returns, do you want Him to say, “I don’t know you”? It’s our choice.
Remember to pray for those mentioned on Sunday who have asked us to pray for them. We have so many needs out there in our community, in our families and our work place. Remember Cindy Fitzgerald in prayer this week as well as Eldon Brooks, Janice Spicer, Logan Brown, Dr. Sam Evans and of course the Hancock Family during this sad time. Lots of others who are in our hearts for healing and comfort need us. God does hear our prayers.
We offer Sunday school classes at 9:45 a.m., that teaches God’s Word plus we learn to fellowship amongst other Christians who are looking to God’s word for direction and guidance. We can learn and draw strength from each other. Give Sunday school a try. Adult Bible study is on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. and that is open to everyone. Our Youth Student Ministries meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at the youth building southwest of the church.
Every day we can find obstacles in our path that try to divert our mind and goals away from God. If you find yourselves drifting, remember that God loves you. He loves all of us. Only He can keep us on the right path. If we talk to Him daily, He’ll help us carry those burdens and lighten our load.
God bless and see you Sunday.
