A Douglas County teen died in a one-vehicle crash Sunday night on Route C, 13 miles south of Norwood in Douglas County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Levi J. Keller, 17, of Drury, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by Douglas County Coroner Rick Miller. The body was taken to Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mtn. Grove.
According to the Troop G crash report, Keller was traveling south on Route C in a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup which skidded off the left side of the roadway and impacted several trees, coming to rest off the roadway.
Keller was not wearing a seatbelt, the report said.
The 10 p.m. crash represents the 21st fatality of the year in Troop G as compared to 18 fatalities at the same time a year ago.
Funeral services for Keller, who was preparing for his senior year at Mtn. Grove High School, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ozarks Family YMCA in Mtn. Grove.
He proudly served as a junior firefighter with the Eastern Douglas County Volunteer Fire Department.
A “final call” for Firefighter Levi Keller was made by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher following the funeral service Wednesday.
