The Skyline R-2 School Board met in regular session on Thursday, July 21 with five members present. The consent agenda items were discussed and approved.
There was no business to vote on under the topic of old business. However, it was reported that the Foundation Board met for its first meeting on Tuesday, July 5.
Under new business, the board set the date for the tax rate hearing for Aug. 18 at 6:45 p.m.
The ASBR was presented and approved with any changes that the auditor suggests.
Bids were presented and approved from Sara Lee for bread, Hiland for milk, and Hunter Oil for diesel.
The board also adopted the eligibility criteria for free and reduced price meals.
The handbooks were discussed and no changes have been made for the 2011-12 school year.
Mr. Roworth presented information about a professional development grant for a writing program.
In the Superintendent’s Report, it was reported school starts on Aug. 15. Open enrollment is set for Aug. 4 and 5.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m.
