The Douglas County Historical Society held its monthly meeting on July 18 in the museum.
President Pat Carmichael called the meeting to order. Sharon read the treasurer’s report and the minutes of the June meeting which were approved.
Pat reported on the new calendar she is working on for 2012 and it is coming together nicely and will ready for sale in time for Christmas.
Sharon gave an update on the winter Journal and we are still needing some stories for it.
Someone filled the hole in our yard for us and we would like to thank them. It is nice to have that kind of surprise.
We had three new lifetime members join this month and they are Richard Harlan, Carole Faust and Ann Garland.
After a general discussion of thing that we need to do, the meeting was adjourned and Tharon Cahow showed us his new baby sisters, Addison and Jadyn.
I think they are the youngest visitors we have had at the museum and we really enjoyed them.
Our next meeting will be Aug. 15 and everyone is invited.
