Elsie Jane Huff, 97 years, passed to heaven on July 27, 2011 at her home in Ava with her family by her side.
Elsie was born May 21, 1914 in Smallett, Mo., to John and Sarah (Fulton) Sellers.
Elsie was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. On Oct. 14, 1931 Elsie and Lewis Huff were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, Ark., and to this union three daughters were born. She was a Christian and attended the Springcreek Baptist Church when she and Lewis lived on the farm. When she could, Elsie loved cooking for family gatherings and going to garage sales. She loved her family.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis in 2005; her eldest daughter, Vada Graham; four sisters; two brothers; and two great-grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by two daughters, Lucille Jenkins and husband Tony, Ava, Mo., and Sue Bacorn, Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren, Larry Graham and wife, Elaine, Donna Atchison and husband, Gary, Toni McGill and husband, David, Keith Jenkins and wife, Sheila, all of Ava, and Paige Kessler and Stacey Bacorn, Springfield, Mo.; 11 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Elsie will be Friday, July 29, at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 28, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Johnson and Rev. Freeda Holt. Memorials may be made to Springcreek Cemetery.
