Rome

It sounds like we are in for some more hot weather this week. We appreciate the air conditioner. I wonder how we ever got along without them.

Dick and I put a bushel of peaches in the freezer Tuesday and went to Sparta to get some green beans and cucumbers Wednesday. If we don’t get some rain soon the gardens are going to be hurting

Tony Richards took Irene, his mother, to her doctor Friday. While she was entering the elevator to go up to his office she fell and broke her right leg. It took several hours for Tony to convince the doctor’s to take her to the hospital for evaluation. After x-rays they found her leg broken just below the knee. They placed a plate over the broken bones. She is still in the hospital waiting to get her blood pressure and sugars under control. Today is Monday. She will remain there until that happens. They will be bringing her to Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center. The doctor told them she wouldn’t be able to put any weight on it for at least eight weeks.

We took Kailey Thompson down to Camp JOY this morning. She will be there all week. You have to drive the long way around because the bridge at Vera Cruz is out.

Until next time, God bless.
