The Nubbin Ridge Homemakers Club met July 14 for an afternoon meeting in the home of Lois Strong.
Norma Stillings, president, led the reading of the Club Collect.
Two readings were “Crabby Old Man” by Norma and Lois read “Perks.”
We learned the proper way to dispose of fluorescent light bulbs and what to do if a bulb is broken in the home. There is a fee at the collection site.
Roll call was answered by “Have you ever attended a City Council meeting?”
Norma presented the lesson on Ava city government, the office, and duties each person is responsible for.
Members passed gifts around as Lois read “A Christmas Gift Exchange.” This was great fun.
Lois called four games of bingo. Winners were Nadine, Pat, Eva and Geraldine.
Those enjoying refreshments were Geraldine Gray, Nadine Letsinger, Eva Painter, Pat Banks, Norma Stillings, Bobbye Priddy, and the hostess Lois Strong.
Geraldine Gray will entertain Aug. 11 at 1 p.m. at a local cafe.
