Emogene Cleo Burleson, 82

Emogene Cleo Burleson, daughter of William Gordon Philpott and   Hazel Ethel (Bowers) Philpott, was born in the Dogwood community in Douglas County, Mo. She passed away at 8:05 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 in the Cox Medical Center South, Springfield at the age of 82 years, seven months and 17 days.

Emogene was united in marriage to Howard Burleson on Oct. 5, 1949. She was a 20-year employee at Zenith in Springfield and a member of the Marshfield Church of the Nazarene.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Howard Burleson; one brother, William Donald Philpott; and one sister, Marion Delora Philpott.

Survivors include one son, Terry ‘Mike’ Burleson and his wife Tina,  Marshfield; one daughter, Jennifer June Burks and her husband Eddie, Fordland; four grandchildren, Travis Dean Burks and his wife Kristi, Fordland, Bridgette Michelle Dickson and her husband Greg,   Rogersville, Shanna  Michelle McDonald and her husband Charlie, Ava, and Lindy Grier and her husband Chris, Marshfield; five great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Grier, Ethan Grier, Claire McDonald, Natasha Burks and Trenton Burks; one sister-in-law, Thelma Philpott, Ava; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, in the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Marshfield Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Fraker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 85, Marshfield, MO  65706.
