I went out in the freshness of the morning this Monday to water the flowers and to set in my swimming pool and to have a talk with myself. I do that a lot and have for many years. My sisters think I am far gone, but what they do not know is, it is good for the soul and it keeps your heart free. My Grandma Upshaw of Denlow talked to herself a lot for many years and she lived to be an old lady with a good mind and spirit. So to each their own.
A good spirit was in church Sunday. Pastor Don’s message was “A Walk Through Ephesians” from Ephesians 2:10, my salvatiion is unto good works. Folks aren’t always faithful in attending all the services at Seminole.
Mary Belle Dickison of Ava, was in service with us the last two Sundays. Mary Belle is leaving her home in Ava of a lot of years, moving to Springfield. We welcome her into Seminole Church.
Three of the Allen girls from Seminole Baptist Church attended Camp JOY this past week. They are the daughters of Holly Chapman Allen and great granddaughters of Oscar and Gladys Cunningham. They had a great time. The youngest Corrin received the Honor Camper ribbon.
Sunday night after church Marise, JoAnne and I went out to treat ourselves to ice cream.
Sister Alice called me from Iowa Saturday and she had caught a bad cold and it was hot there too.
I wish to send happy birthday wishes to my cousin, Inez Davis, at Ballwin, MO. One more step up the ladder this week to reach 83. It is hard to believe we are the elder now.
Sometimes we are so busy adding up our troubles that we forget to count out the blessings.
