Opening Sunday school Roy Hampton read Proverbs 33:38 then led in prayer. Lee Hampton taught the 15th chapter of Luke. It was the parable of the lost sheep. We all discussed the lesson and that is this writer’s learning point. I love to hear peoples view on the scriptures. It helps to remember. We had questions and answers and will ask more for next Sunday.
Roy Hampton took up the morning offering. Clara Lafferty led the offering prayer. Roy Hampton asked for testimonies, a few testified. Sometimes we are not thankful enough for God’s many blessings. We are slack to thank Him.
We sang congregational songs. Sue Sisco sang a special then joined Sue Thomas and Clara Lafferty in performing another special. Joe Lafferty preached on Luke 18, Parable of the Judge. Shall he find faith on the earth. He prayed after reading his text. We sang an invitational song and Roy Hampton dismissed in prayer.
Evening services started with a congregational song. Sue Sisco played for Roy Hampton’s granddaughter, Brandon and Nicole Hampton’s daughter, who sang. Sue then sang a special. Sue Thomas’ sister was our guest from Kansas City. Sue’s grandchildren were also with them. Sue Sisco and Joe Lafferty sang. Joe Lafferty preached on Luke 18:29-43, Faith of a Blind Man. Roy Hampton preached St. John, chapter 11, the raising of Lazarus. Lee Hampton preached in Luke 19:1. Jesus passed through Jericho. Lee Hampton gave the invitation. Sue Thomas dismissed. Lets pray for all the sick and lost people.
Remember the Fifth Sunday in July singing is at Breedon at 6 p.m. Bring finger food. Also the first Saturday night in August is “Tag That Preacher.” The meeting will start at 6 p.m. on the Ava Square. Bring your lawn chairs and hear good music and preaching.
Stay in where it is cool. Until then, God bless.
